Cruise Lines are constantly looking at ways to stand out from the rest and activities on board are definitely one way to do it! When you think of taking a cruise do you think of long, boring days at sea? Well think again! From Surfing to Rock-climbing, cruise lines have it covered.

For the high energy passenger

FlowRider – on board Royal Caribbean ships, passengers have the chance to work on their surfing skills. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer!

Sports ComplexNorwegian Cruise line have introduced the largest ropes course at sea, The Plank extending 8 feet over the ship and more action-packed activities in their three-story sports complex.

Aqua Park – Seventeen decks above the ocean, Norwegian Cruise line offer the best water park at sea! With five multi-story slides and much more, this is fun for all the family

Sports – Nearly all cruise lines offer Basketball, Volleyball, Football courts on board the ships. Some larger than others. Tournaments are held on board for both children and adults.

Zip-line – Soar over the Boardwalk on board the Oasis or Allure of the seas with Royal Caribbean. The only zip line at sea!

Rock-climbing – Will you be first to ring the bell? Rock climbing can be found on board Royal Caribbean cruise ships.

For the more reserved passenger

Bingo – Forget your canteen-looking Bingo halls. Nearly all cruise lines offer Bingo on board their ships in some of the most Elegant settings. The host will always make sure you have a great time!

Mini-GolfRoyal Caribbean have a mini-golf course on board some of their ships where you can just play for fun, or go head to head with other passengers on board. They also offer a Driving Range for the golfers on board.

Quizzes, Shows and more – All ships offer a range of quizzes, shows, parades and much more. Passengers are welcome to get involved or just sit back and spectate.

Swimming Pools – With more than one swimming pool on nearly all ships and dedicated children’s pools, relaxing in a swimming pool or Hot tub can be a great way to spend days on board.

As well as all the above, you can also find Ice-Skating rinks, Roller Skating, Dodgems, 3D Cinema’s, Night Clubs, Karaoke Bars, Casinos, Running Tracks and much more on the modern day cruise ships.

Most activities are included in your cruise price, but be sure to check, as some do have a charge.

Some activities are only on board certain ships, so if you have your heart set on doing something in particular, be sure to check its on the ship you are sailing on!!!
