Hello fellow readers, welcome to my new Blog. My name is Ian and I’m relatively new to Cruise Club UK. Nevertheless, due to the friendliness and Professionalism of the company I have been made to feel part of the Cruise Club UK family from day one . With over 20 years’ experience within the travel industry I have built up a wealth of knowledge and experiences along the way, something I will be sharing with you all. I put my long successful career within the travel industry down to appreciating how people work hard all year round to pay for their holidays, by listening to the client’s (your) needs, I like to go that extra mile to make the booking process that bit more special and personal for you. Stay tuned for light-hearted information, by your friendly Admiral Lazz

Norwegian Cruise Line Go All Inclusive

ncl_Drinks_Mojitos_1335

As from the 6th April 2017 any passenger booking with NCL will benefit from unlimited Inclusive drinks which will include alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and will also include a variety of premium brands.

Besides the all-inclusive drinks package the gratuities will also be included in the final price which means no hidden costs awaiting  when you disembark.

The amazing thing with NCL’s new promotion is that it doesn’t just cover the first two passengers, the 3rd and 4th passengers also receive the Premium drinks package or soft drinks and Juice package depending on their age.

The All-inclusive package will cover all bars, lounges and restaurants on-board NCL’s 14 ships, including bottled and draft beer, spirits, wine and cocktails as well as soft drinks and juices.

Children are now also offered unlimited juices, soft drinks and water.

Photographed on Norwegian Pearl.SpecialCoffees_11.tif

Included in the drinks package is selected Lavazza speciality coffees

For guests staying in the Haven Suites they will receive a Premium drinks package PLUS  they will also receive 250 minutes free Wifi and $100.00 per stateroom on board spending money.

On top of the Wifi and on board spends the Haven suite guests will get to enjoy Gourmet dining valid in the following speciality restaurants:-

Cagney’s steakhouse, Teppanyaki, Le Bistro, La Cucina, Margariaville and Moderno Churrascaria.

On a personal level and being in the travel industry for over 20 years, could this be the way forward?

If we sit down and work out how much we would need to budget for drinks, gratuities etcetera it would be far more than the price difference compared to what NCL are offering.

Group enjoying drinks at the Bier Garten

With the drinks package being a Premium package I’ve highlighted some examples of the Brands on offer plus many more I’ve not listed:

Beers & Ciders :-

Grolsch, Becks , Peroni, Coors Light, Red Stripe, San Miguel and Strongbow

Gin & Vodka:-

Absolut, Beefeater, Hendricks and my all-time favourite Smirnoff

The list is endless and no extra charge for branded drinks.

So remember next time you cruise with NCL you can disembark the ship without worrying what bills are awaiting!

Still relatively cheaper than most Cruise lines, P&O have decided to raise their gratuities from £5.00 per person per day to £6.00 per person per day.

P&O like their gratuity policy to be known as a Service Reward Programme.

The increase has just launched fleet wide and is payable by passengers aged 12 and above.

With P&O unlike some of her competitors the gratuities cannot be prepaid and are added on to your account to be paid at the end of your cruise.

Service

As it is still not compulsory to pay gratuities with them, when checking in on board you can request that none are added on to your account and you opt to pay as you go along. In many cases some passengers do prefer to tip whom they wish. Please just remember gratuities are a simple way to ensure the ships crew are fairly rewarded for the great service they provide. From restaurant staff and buffet staff to cabin stewards and butlers

With today’s exchange rates especially on cruise ships who deal in dollars and euros I would highly recommend on pre paying them at the time of the booking.

P&O have also stated that on top of the £6.00 per person per day charge, passengers can still reward extra to any member of staff.

Have you ever thought about  increasing  the daily recommended tipping amount from £6.00 a day to whatever amount you wish? Just visit the reception desk on board and ask

shutterstock_452300182

I’ve put together a list of other cruise lines charge compared to P&O (Please note the below are only a guide and can change at anytime):

Royal Caribbean $13.50 per day

Celebrity $13.50 per day

Norwegian Cruise Line $13.50 per day

MSC charge 8 .50 Euros per day for Europe and $12.00 per day for the Caribbean

Princess Cruises $13.50 per day.

With a P&O Cruise the choice is yours, because this is the life

Looking for buckets of fun & thrills? Then look no further than on board water parks. In this blog I delve into the best slides and family fun waterparks at sea. Being a family man, one of the most important things I do when choosing a cruise is to make sure my kids are entertained. Plus we parents get to play/rest and top up the tan!

MSC Preziosa

Vertigo-1_tcm13-69577

Welcome to Doremi Castle Aqua Park: situated on deck 16, the water park boasts sprays, fountains, water pistols and valves. All designed to splash, soak and delight!  Thrill seekers can climb to deck 18 where you meet ‘Vertigo’ – 120m of twists and turns, some of which take you off the side of the ship. Translucent bands of colour catch the light, creating a strobe effect as you zip through at top speed

Norwegian Cruise Lines

Onboard_Pool_13

Aqua Parks on Norwegian vary between ships. ‘Free Fall’ is one of the fastest drop slides at sea and is featured onboard their Breakaway Class Ships (Getaway, Breakaway). Whilst Norwegian Epic features the ‘Plunge’, where you slide down 200 feet, then swirl around the bigger than life water bowl!

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines

Home to H2O Water Parks, complete with water cannons and much more. The Perfect Storm, Supercells, Typhoon and Cyclone are the perfect waterslides for making a big splash.

Also worth a mention is the ‘Ultimate Abyss’ on board their latest ship ‘Harmony of the Seas’, it’s the world’s tallest slide at sea which plunges 100 foot! (no water involved)

2bh8-f7tb4anl-800x800

Carnival Cruise Lines

Head over to WaterWorks, complete with Twister, Power Drencher and on selected ships ‘Speedway Splash’ – side by side racing slides makes competition fun.

Splish and splash your days away with on board waterparks. Which one will you choose?

No excuse to keep in shape, with newer and bigger ships being built the options to keeping fit are becoming greater with each new Cruise ship.

For many people working out on holiday is a must and the facilities offered are out of this world. The larger the ship, the more facilities they offer and not just offering fully equipped gymnasiums but also spas and thermal suites.

With state of the art gym equipment and floor to ceiling windows which offer you the best panoramic views at sea, there really is no need to leave your fitness routine back on dry land!

Welcome to your floating gym and to be honest it’s probably more equipped than your local gym, plus working out is included in the cost of facilities onboard.

Go outdoors:

jogging-track-1

Sweat it out and enjoy a sea breeze. Most cruise lines have a jogging/walking track situated on the upper decks and come padded for long distance comfort. Enjoy the scenic view! Want to workout outdoors? Carnival Cruise Lines offer SkyFitness – work your way around the course. From bikes, weights and punch bags

Fitness classes:

Shake things up with a challenge in your work out. Classes include: yoga, pilates, cycling, boot camp, personal trainer, zumba (all at an extra charge). Who knows, if you like the onboard classes it could turn into a new hobby when you arrive home

Fitness_Flywheel

Norwegian Cruise Lines offer RYDE classes. An indoor cycling class that lasts 45 minutes, includes climbs, descents and upper body workout using weighted bars that are attached to the bike

Fitness_boxing

How about some high intensity boxing classes to pack a serious punch! Delivered by motivated and experienced coaches, Norwegian Flight Klub is only available on their Breakaway Class Ships

For something a little different Holland America Cruise Lines offer Cardio Ki-Bo Circuit Training, which is a combination of Chi-releasing moves, including: boxercise and kickboxing

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines offer vitality enrichment seminars on board

Crystal Cruises have an outdoor Fitness garden which consists of exercise machines. This is found on the Crystal Serenity. Crystal also offer a Walk on water programme known as WOW. Keep fit fanatics wear what’s called a walk vest which weighs between 2 to 16 pounds. The heavier the suit the harder the work out

SIYogoClass

With so many dining choices on board, you’ll be wanting to work out!

Norwegian Cruise Line are now offering some passengers to bid on an upgrade, this would be done prior to sailing and once they have paid in full

mini-suites-and-balconies-1

This would give the select passengers the chance to upgrade by one or two categories. For example a guest who is booked into an Ocean view cabin will be able to bid on a higher grade cabin to move either to a balcony or higher

F3-Haven_Getaway-Courtyard_900x312

Nevertheless guests who are eligible to bid on Suites or The Haven will be able to do so with separate bids, NCL ‘said’ the passengers who are eligible would be contacted by email. The good news regarding the criteria it will not depend on how much the client paid for their original stateroom

shutterstock_561785500

Once a bid has been accepted guests will be notified straight away via a confirmation email

This program which will be known as the ‘Upgrade Advantage Program’ is due to commence on 8th February 2017.   The Cruise Ships they will be starting with is the Norwegian Escape, Getaway, Breakaway, Epic and Pride of America. The remaining fleet will be added at a later date. With this new concept due to start shortly, here at Cruise Club UK we have some amazing NCL itineraries and offers exclusive to ourselves:

Getaway-YF_900x312

For example a cruise with NCL in December to the Canaries starts from only £779 per person including flights

Click here for more exclusive offers with Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise lines are also great for the younger generation, regardless of age they cater for families with young children. Also at present NCL are offering a free drinks package on the majority of their sailings plus a choice of On-board creditor a Dynamic dining package if you book an Ocean view or above

Another great concept Norwegian Cruise line offers are their real time webcams on the following ships:

Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Sky, Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Star, Norwegian Sun, Pride of America, Norwegian Escape.

Why not indulge in a spa treatment whilst on your next Cruise?

We all love a pamper session and what better way to experience a treatment than on board a cruise ship. Most major cruise lines offer special rates whilst on board. Be it a day or for the duration of your cruise. You will get access to the spa, including thermal suites, Jacuzzis plus more. You can also pay for one off treatments, each cruise line varies. One I can recommend is a diy body scrub and mud lounge, on board Carnival Vista in their hi tech Cloud 9 spa.

Here I’ve listed a few spa experience options:

The Aurea Spa

With MSC Cruise lines (selected ships),  is where you will find the Aurea Spa, besides hydrotherapy pools, steam room and sauna she also offers a wide range of different massages together with aromatherapy and hot stone. You can also get advice from the on-board spa doctor on skin management to suit your needs.
