Hi I’m Hayley, I have recently joined the Cruise Club UK team and I am loving every minute of my time here. I have spent 11 years in the travel industry from selling cruises to package holidays, but I am back doing what I love best-selling and finding perfect cruise holidays for my customers. We all have such a passion for finding your perfect cruise here at Cruise Club UK. I absolutely love cruising and have been lucky enough to go on many of the cruise lines. My favourites being Celebrity cruise line and Royal Caribbean. I love that you get to see a different place each day and when you are at sea you can enjoy the ship and their many activities. Most of the cruise lines are offering great benefits now from on board credit, free all inclusive drinks packages and free car parking in port. I would love you to give me a call today on 0161 798 2571 and I can help organise your dream cruise. Hayley

P&O Cruises have confirmed it will build a second 5,200-passenger ship, estimated for delivery in 2022. This leaves us excited for two new megaships in the near future.

The second new ship and its yet to be named sister ship will be the largest cruise ships ever built for the British market; the first ship is due to launch in 2020. Both are being built by Meyer Werft at its shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

Like its sister ship, the new ship will run on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fuel, which will significantly reduce air emissions. The “green cruising” technology will make both new ships the most environmentally friendly in P&O Cruises’ history.

Senior Vice President Paul Ludlow states “We have a bold and ambitious vision for P&O Cruises to become Britain’s number one holiday choice and we can only do that by increasing our fleet,”

“The build for our 2020 ship begins this spring and it will offer all generations of British guests the holiday of a lifetime on the next generation of P&O Cruises ships.”

Until the first ship launches in 2020, P&O Cruises’ flagship — the 3,647-passenger Britannia — will hold the title for the largest ship in the fleet.

P&O boast Choice, flexibility and the ability to create your own on board experiences on their new ships. They want you to rest and play your way.

The new ships have been designed by the worlds leading design and guest experience teams to make sure you have a wealth of dining, entertainment, socialising and relaxation to make your cruise even more enjoyable.

Choose from:

  • More than fifteen places to eat to suit all appetites and occasions
  • Eight speciality restaurants
  • More than ten places to enjoy a drink and take in sea views
  • Sixteen whirlpools
  • Four swimming pools (three outside and one inside)
  • Eight places to have breakfast
  • Four places to take afternoon tea
  • Eight places to enjoy fresh coffee
  • Plenty of entertainment venues from the theatre to venues for adults only

If you are a parent sailing on MSC Seaside you will soon be able to locate your children in public spaces using the MSC for Me app.

The app, which was released back in March, is already up and running on both MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside, but doesn’t include the child-finding capability, which launches in a “few weeks” on MSC Seaside.

You will be able to locate your children (from ages 1 to 11) on a map of the ship, so long as your children are in a public space. There are no sensors in the cabins, so it will not tell parents if their children are in their room.

For now, cruisers can use MSC for Me to find their way around the ship via turn-by-turn directions enabled by 3,275 beacons (essentially serving as onboard GPS satellites). Other functionalities include the ability to make restaurant reservations, book shore excursions or see the day’s schedule.

Further down the road, MSC will not only update the app but the technology onboard its ships as well, adding facial recognition that will enable the ship to push personalized messaging to people as they move through the ship.

Smart cabins are also in the works, as are robotic entertainment and virtual and augmented reality, which should be rolled out on ships in 2019. (Virtual reality is already in use by the future cruise sales office as cruisers on one ship can use VR to see what the experience on a different ship is like.) The line will also be improving its Wi-Fi technology.

Burning sparkling fireworks as happy new year holiday 2020 over black background

The number of UK Cruise passengers will hit or surpass the 2 million mark by 2020 according to leading cruise experts.

The cruise industry has finally become known as a mainstream holiday.

The symbolic figure has been a goal of the UK cruise sector for many years, and in 2016 (the last year of available figures), UK cruise passengers reached 1.9m.

Despite the devastating hurricanes, 2017 was described as a “perfect year” for the industry in terms of performance by the three leading cruise companies — and 2018 is set to surpass it.

The CEO of Carnival UK, David Dingle stated “We are getting very close to that 2 million figure,” he also said “We hit 1.9 million passengers in 2016, so I definitely think we will hit 2 million by 2020.”

Dingle, who is also deputy chairman of CLIA, added: “I genuinely feel we have broken through the ‘glass ceiling’ at long last. I think we are at the stage where cruising is being recognised as a mainstream holiday.”

Andy Harmer, SVP Membership & Director of the UK & Ireland Cruise Line Industry Association, said he believes the 2 million mark will be reached before then.

Dingle also dismissed any Brexit concerns, saying that the cruise industry is one of those sectors that will be largely unaffected by the UK leaving the EU: “There is no reason why UK passengers would be treated any differently from, say, US passengers when they come to Europe,” he stated

                                                                                               Image result for cruise ship

It has been noted that the cruise industry is undergoing a significant new ship building programme following the financial slump in 2008

Next year sees the launch of many megaships from all the major lines — Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and Carnival

There are 72 ships on order that total a value of $50 billion and are set to be built before 2025

The code states that each passenger 18 or older will be allowed to bring only one bottle of wine, Champagne, beer, spirits or liquor up to one litre during initial embarkation. Additional alcohol, including any purchased ashore or in onboard duty free shops will be confiscated and held until the last night of each sailing.

The new regulations also ban custom group clothing with personal photos or slogans, as well as clothing with offensive messages and fancy dress outside of designated theme nights, which may include 60’s, 70’s, Hawaii, western or black and white.

The policy also requires passengers 17 and older to adhere to two dress codes, these are resort wear or leisurewear for evening casual nights (this includes no light jeans, football shirts, trainers or shorts) and cocktail dresses or evening gowns for women and suits and tuxedos for men on black tie nights

Royal Caribbean Cruises, the parent company of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises is rolling out an app that will eradicate check in lines, allow cruisers to get drinks delivered to anywhere they are on the ship and transform cabin ceilings into starry nights, among other fun techy features.

Image result for smart phone

The app will create a way for you to design vacations rich in made to order, memory making moments and will provide recommendations based on what you have enjoyed or shared about your preferences.

The services of the app will enable you to skip the check in line on embarkation day, sign up for shore excursions, make dinner reservations and order drinks and have them delivered to your poolsode lounger.

The app is designed as a time saver to get rid of things we consider as wasted effort and wasted energy, like standing in line. We all hate to Que.

Time spent in line whether you are waiting for food, drinks, bags to arrive or booking an excursion is time stolen from your holiday.

Using the app you wont need to find your SeaPass in order to open your cabin, the app will do this for you as well as controlling the lighting and temperature in the room.

Other app features will include a virtual concierge that will answer questions, passenger to passenger chatting and the ability to stream content to the TV.

Royal Caribbean aim to have 13 percent of its total fleet outfitted with this technology by the end of 2017, 50 percent by the end of 2018 and the entire fleet across all three brands by the end of 2019.
