My Barcelona stay and cruise part 2. Barcelona beach area

On arrival at the H10 Marina we were also greeted with more cava and goodies from the warm staff and my daughter recognized a lady from the previous H10 hotel. The lady explained to her that she works in both hotels and handed her a large H10 stuffed toy now named Daisy. As we checked in they offered me a H10 membership card as I had stayed in the sister hotel the previous couple of days.

We had booked a triple room at the hotel on a bed & breakfast basis and received a very large spacious room with a huge bathroom. As we settled into our room we got a knock on the door from one of the staff who handed us some welcome chocolates to my daughters delight!!!

We spent the rest of the day sunning ourselves at the hotels rooftop pool which was a lot bigger than the sister hotel Casanovas pool. The views were amazing from the rooftop and the pool bar staff were lovely. The pool area did not seem to get too busy and we ordered some food from the pool bar and relaxed in the sunshine with a few cocktails.

The following morning we were greeted at the huge breakfast room by a friendly smart looking lady who showed us to a table. We had a lovely breakfast with lots of choice even a gluten free/diet station and plenty of cold and hot options including the offer of cava or orange juice! We got ready and walked to the beach which was a good 25 minutes by foot but a straight route. The beach was very clean and it wasn’t too busy so we had a lovely beach day!

After a lovely beach day we got a taxi back to the hotel and got ready to got out for dinner. We walked out of the hotel and we must have took a wrong turn and after a few minutes walk we noticed we were outside a women’s prison! There was a lot of graffiti around so we headed another way which seemed to take us towards shops but mainly fast food type places so we googled tapas places and flagged down a taxi to take us. After a 10 minute taxi journey we arrived at a very authentic looking tapas restaurant and settled in for our dinner.

After a lovely night we headed back to the hotel by taxi and had a nightcap in the hotel bar. The bar staff were lovely and could not do enough for us. We went to bed eagerly anticipating the next day as this would be cruise embarkation day!!! Hold tight for my next blog when we board Freedom of the Seas.
