The supreme court located in Bermuda has now ruled that same marriage is now legal and the following cruise lines like Cunard, P&O and Princess have now addressed the issue and will start taking bookings for 2018 sailings. The stipulation is that any ship registered from Bermuda will be able to perform the ceremony. With the exception of P&O Britannia, all P&O cruise lines ship will be able to offer the service that are registered in Bermuda. The ceremonies will be performed by the ship’s Captain or the Deputy Captain and the marriage licences will be issued in Bermuda.
The first same sex marriage will take place onboard the P&O Azura this coming January 2018, P&O’s weddings at Sea packages start from £1200.00 and will take place in the Caribbean.
For the past 5 years Cunard Cruise Lines has offered weddings at sea package and range from $2,800 on both Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria and from $3,400 on Queen Mary 2.
Mean while Princess Cruise Lines has revelaed it also intends to hold same sex marriages onboard all 13 ships that they have registered in Bermuda – Princess Cruise Lines is also part of the Carnival Corportaion.
I believe now that other international cruise lines will now follow suit and offer sex sex marriages and wold wide international destinations. We are now living in 2017 where sexual orientation should not play a role in everyday life, people should be able to live freely and avoid discrimination.
