Carnival Cruise Line

There are some amazing and innovative ships to be launched within the next year. Take a look at some of the most anticipated ships due to enter service in 2018…

shutterstock_39260101

Carnival Horizon is the sister ship to the Carnival Vista, which was launched back in 2016, a particular favorite of mine, as I sailed on Vista in her maiden year, on my first family cruise, and I absolutely loved it!!! Carnival Horizon is the newest ship within the Carnival fleet, and will be welcomed into Europe in April 2018, where she will spend her summer cruising the Mediterranean. Identical to Vista, she will feature SkyRide, the twin track cycling attraction, that gives riders a view over the Sport-square below, this is where activities such as volleyball, football and table tennis can be found. The on board WaterWorks park, is colorful and exciting, and is themed upon the famous Dr Seuss. The on board IMAX cinema is not to be missed! Experience cinema, first hand, with the stunning effects and props, that bring the film to life! Horizon has a wide variety of restaurants, included within the cruise fare, and also a selection of speciality dining options, for a small cover charge. This ship is ideal for families, and features large and spacious rooms, to accommodate larger families.

MSC Seaview is the identical ship within the Seaside multi generational ships, twinned with MSC Seaside. MSC Seaview will enter service in June 2018, and will have a guest capacity of 5,179 guests. The ship is dubbed as a ‘resort ship’ and features a water park that has no fewer than five slides! A warm Italian feel will be felt throughout the ship. A seafront boardwalk will encase the ship, and will be home to many bars and restaurants, as well as shopping galore! The main pool, the Panorama Pool has breathtaking views out to sea. The atrium is spanned over two decks, and its glass walls will showcase live entertainment.

japshutterstock_473288104Carnival have announced a brand new dining concept for there amazing new ship Carnival Horizon. The highly anticipated Carnival Horizon is due to make her maiden voyage in early 2018. Carnival Horizon will feature a brand new dining concept for Carnival cruise lines with the introduction of their first Teppanyaki at sea!! Teppanyaki is a Japanese cooking method which actually means grilling on a iron plate and includes an entertaining performance by a chef, the chef entertains and cooks the food in front of guests on a flat grill.

blog

The new Teppanyaki restaurant will be open for lunch on sea days and every evening for dinner. There will be an array of mouth-watering dishes on offer to guests with appetizers such as Teppanyaki Shrimp with Soy butter and Salsa vinaigrette, Pork belly yakitori with Sesame asparagus. The kind of entrees to expect are Lobster tail with yuzu cream and citrus kosho, fillet mignon with truffle salt, Garlic chips and Champagne flambé. For dessert guests can expect a chocolate bento box complete with green tea ice-cream! The menu certainly has me drooling as I am sharing this with you all. Carnival are certainly not the first cruise line to have the Teppanyaki concept on board but they certainly are doing this very well as the sound of the mouth-watering offerings are certain to impress any pallet.

What better way to arrive in Puerto Vallarta than by sea. Docking at Terminal Maritimo has been modified to berth 3 ships at any one time.

The following cruise lines: Carnival, Celebrity, Disney, Holland America, Norwegian, Princess & Royal Caribbean will visit in 2017. Carnival Miracle is the main cruise line operating all year round. From 2018 Carnival Splendor will replace the 2,100 passenger Miracle, which will result in a 41% increase to tourism in the area

Weather

It’s warm all year round with tropical temperatures, however summer months are very hot and rainy. Best time for us Brits to travel is our winter time, when the rainfall has stopped and the temperature has cooled off a little

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is located between the Sierra Madre Mountains & the 7th largest bay in the world- Banderas Bay, which is the largest in Mexico and 2nd largest in North America. The bay extends 26 miles with Puerto Vallarta in the middle.

Puerto Vallarta is one of the most exceptional places in Latin America due to its biodiversity. From it’s tropical vegetation to the hundreds of species of birds. Watch the migration of humpback whales in the winter months. They move from the North Pole to the Bay to have their calves in the warm waters November to March.

Carnival Vista arrived into Miami earlier this week, after her inaugural season around the Mediterranean

I myself, experienced Carnival Vista back in August of this year, on an eight night sailing around the Mediterranean, and I experienced the fantastic facilities this ship has to offer, from the SkyRide, to a burger in Guy’s Burger Joint, my Carnival Vista experience was a truly memorable one…

The Port of Miami officially welcomed Carnival Vista earlier this week, where she will begin her busy cruising schedule of 6 and 8 cruise holidays around the Caribbean. She was welcomed with open arms from her Captain, Stefano Battinelli and the ports Assistant Director, Fred Wong. The occasion was marked with a Maritime plaque, prior to the Vista’s first scheduled departure from Miami.

The president of Carnival Cruises, Christine Duffy expressed her delight with this statement issued earlier this week

“Miami has been our home since our company’s inception in 1972 and homeporting the new Carnival Vista here not only provides consumers with a convenient homeport with renovated facilities and numerous operational enhancements but speaks volumes about our confidence in growing this important market,”

Miami-Dade Mayor,  Carlos A. Gimenez has also thanked Carnival Cruise Lines by stating his delight of Vista’s arrival

“We are thankful for Carnival Cruise Line’s continued growth at PortMiami,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “The arrival of new and innovative cruise ships such as Carnival Vista helps solidify our place as a global hub for travel and tourism, vital to the continual growth and development of our community.”

The Carnival Vista is Carnival’s new addition to the fleet, and also the largest. She boasts a wide variety of eateries, including formal and casual options, with times to suit every guest on board.

Entertainment is varied on board, including live shows, comedy acts, live singers and artists, personally my favourite was to watch a movie under the stars, whilst soaking in the warm August Mediterranean air in the evenings, with popcorn to give that truly cinematic experience.

carn

My children, aged 8 and 5 utilised the children’s on board clubs and facilities, which offered interactive games, group activities and gave my children fantastic memories, that they often recall.

This is an exciting time for Vista, and I personally, would like to wish her every success for her bright future.
