Italian owned Costa Cruise Line have today announced their partnership with Italian Football team Juventus.

For all of their sailings within Asia, Costa Cruise Line will be offering a Juventus Experience on board for all passengers.

Guests on board will be able to view Juventus content at anytime from the TV in their cabin. They can also learn about Juventus’ history, as there will be a fantastically decorated “Juventus Museum” corner, showcasing related Memorabilia. Of course you can pick up a souvenir, just visit the Juventus Shop on board!

They will have a fantastic mini club on board where children can play with the Juventus Official mascot, Jay. In my opinion, the highlight of the new partnership will be a Juventus trainging program, for children aged 5 to 14 years old. Aspiring footballers are encouraged to sign up regardless of the technical level, as the training will be managed and trained by coaches from Juventus and the program is copied from the Juventus Soccer school “Juventus Academy”.

The cruise line say the new partnership with the Italian Football Giant, will accentuate Costa Cruises Italian DNA and enrich the on board offerings to passengers.

Costa Neoromantica, Costa Victoria and Costa Neoclassica are the three ships kicking off the 2018 Asia Sailings.

Due to the new partnership, cabins will be getting full very quickly, so don’t miss out on your chance to be apart of this new program!

Seabourn have proudly marked a construction milestone for their new ship Seabourn Ovation with a traditional coin and launch ceremony.

The ceremony took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy earlier this month and involved one of Seabourn’s longest serving female shipboard team members, the president of Seabourn, the Fincantieri shipyard director and the Captain who will be in charge of the Ovation when she launches in May 2018.

The time-honored coin and launch ceremony involves 2 commemorative gold coins being welded to the ship’s mast, then the ship’s cord is cut to allow water to flow in to the ships building dock. This is the first time the ship will be ‘floated’ so is an exciting time for both the ship builders and Seabourn themselves. The ship will then be moved to the outfitting dock to receive final construction and will remain there until Seabourn take delivery of the ship in 2018.

The inaugural sailing will depart Venice on the 5th May 2018 for an 11 night cruise to Barcelona. Following this she will spend her maiden season cruising Northern Europe, offering 7 day Baltic/Scandinavia sailings featuring Seabourn’s signature 3 day stay in St. Petersburg, Russia. There will also be 14 day sailings available visiting the Norwegian Fjords and our very own British Isles.

Seabourn Ovation will be 40,350 GRT and will carry just 600 guests, based on double occupancy. The all suite ship, each complete with veranda and large enough to allow al fresco dining, will provide a home from home base for her guests.

The ship is being fashioned by design icon Adam D. Tihany, so expect contemporary interiors, modern design and innovations in keeping with the elegance of the Seabourn fleet.

The exclusive and extremely popular ‘ The Grill by Thomas Keller’ restaurant will also feature on board, offering updated versions of iconic American Classics. You can expect table side preparation of Caesar salad and Ice cream sundaes, as well as favourites such as lobster thermidore and premium steaks.

You can of course expect to receive on board the highly intuitive and personal service which is synonymous to Seabourn.

At present only artists impressions are available of this highly anticipated ship. I am excited to see the finished ship as I am sure she will be stunning and will be a fantastic addition to the Seabourn fleet.

My next few blogs will be a guide to dress codes and how they vary depending on the Cruise line.

Ladies will always find it easier than the men when it comes to packing for your Cruise holiday as a nice dress can always double up either to be casual or evening attire depending on the atmosphere. As for us men a tuxedo is a tuxedo.

Although the cruise lines that hold formal nights will require formal wear you will still have the opportunity to decline and eat in the buffet restaurant on-board your chosen cruise, this is usually the case with people that are not sailing out of the UK and only have the usual 20 kilos baggage allowance.

On the other hand those Cruise ships that do not offer formal nights the passengers can still opt to wear evening attire as dressing up is a big part for many harden cruise passengers.

shutterstock_569203693

My upcoming  blogs are an example of what is required, I would still recommend checking with us, your agent or cruise line before you sail as terms and conditions can change regarding dress codes.

Azamara Club Cruises

Dress Code:  Known as ‘’Resort Casual’’ Azamara’s attire includes for both men and women, Sportswear, golf shirts, Chinos and of course skirts and dresses for the ladies.

Formal wear:  On all Azamara Cruise formal wear is not required. Should you wish to dress formerly you would need to take your own tuxedo with you as Azamara do not offer a rental service on board their ships.

Restrictions:  Bare feet, swimsuits, shorts or jeans are forbidden in the dining room and speciality restaurants, nevertheless jeans can been worn in the Buffet restaurant.

shutterstock_510998728

Carnival Cruise Line

Dress Code:  Being mostly casual Carnival do have one or two nights that will be evening attire. On casual nights which is the majority for Carnival evenings they recommend long trousers which include jeans, dress shorts are also permitted together with a polo shirt for men and dresses and blouses for the ladies. On formal nights men are required to wear long trousers and shirts with a ties and dresses for the ladies, even though some passengers may choose to wear Tuxedos or evening gowns that would be their choice but it isn’t required by the cruise line.

For those who want to be more relaxed they can always eat in the Lido restaurants which carry a more relaxed dress code.

Restrictions:  No swimsuits or flip flops together with sports and gym clothing is a no no during dinner time in the dining room.

shutterstock_456882157

Celebrity Cruises

Dress Code:  Celebrity Cruises states that passengers will need to pack two types of clothing for the cruise. Although most evenings are smart casual which will include sport shirts and trousers for men and for the ladies skirts and blouses and trousers or a more casual dress slacks for men, while women will be comfortable in skirts or pants and blouses, or casual dresses. On “evening chic” nights, both men and women may prefer more dressy attire, though it is not required. Nor are jackets and ties required for men. On the more dressy evenings men and women can dress up in evening attire should they so wish.

Restrictions: Like most Cruises swimwear, shorts and flip flops are not permitted. Jeans can been worn as long as they do not have holes or rips in them.

As mentioned I will be highlighting cruise line dress codes over my next few blogs so keep your eyes peeled! Also most cruise lines have a ‘white night’ so make sure you pack whites
