Italian owned Costa Cruise Line have today announced their partnership with Italian Football team Juventus.

For all of their sailings within Asia, Costa Cruise Line will be offering a Juventus Experience on board for all passengers.

Guests on board will be able to view Juventus content at anytime from the TV in their cabin. They can also learn about Juventus’ history, as there will be a fantastically decorated “Juventus Museum” corner, showcasing related Memorabilia. Of course you can pick up a souvenir, just visit the Juventus Shop on board!

They will have a fantastic mini club on board where children can play with the Juventus Official mascot, Jay. In my opinion, the highlight of the new partnership will be a Juventus trainging program, for children aged 5 to 14 years old. Aspiring footballers are encouraged to sign up regardless of the technical level, as the training will be managed and trained by coaches from Juventus and the program is copied from the Juventus Soccer school “Juventus Academy”.

The cruise line say the new partnership with the Italian Football Giant, will accentuate Costa Cruises Italian DNA and enrich the on board offerings to passengers.

Costa Neoromantica, Costa Victoria and Costa Neoclassica are the three ships kicking off the 2018 Asia Sailings.

Due to the new partnership, cabins will be getting full very quickly, so don’t miss out on your chance to be apart of this new program!

MSC Divina

Have you heard of the membership status match with MSC Cruise Line?

There are a lot of passengers who sail with a particular cruise line purely based on their membership level. I mean, who can blame them, they have taken a long time (usually many years) in building up their loyalty points and membership level with the cruise line they fell in love with 15 years ago.

Well, things change, and cruise lines change. What may have been the best cruise line for you a few years ago, may not be the case now. With more and more ships being built, the cruising industry has never been so popular with returning and new guests.

MSC Cruise line are a wonderful 4* Italian owned cruise line who sail the globe. They offer large inside staterooms, outside, balcony and suite staterooms. If your feeling like splashing out, you could even try their MSC Yacht Club which is their exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” experience.

MSC Yacht Club Deluxe Suite
MSC Yacht Club Deluxe Suite

The Italian line offer a ‘Status Match’ programme which is applicable to all other cruise line memberships. They will match your loyalty status from the other cruise lines to their equivalent membership.

For example, I have just booked my first cruise on board the MSC Cruise Line, MSC Divina cruise ship for April 2017. My membership with Royal Caribbean is currently Emerald (with just ONE sailing away from becoming a Diamond member) – this has been matched as GOLD status with MSC, which gave me a discount off of my cruise and also an on board spend! Not too shabby! – especially as I have never sailed with them before, this is the second to highest level in their membership.

As well as my discount and on board spend, I am in for lots of other benefits when I embark my cruise. such as a fruit basket upon arrival in our cabin, exclusive on board discount, a free photograph of my choice, welcome cocktails with the captain and so on.

Unlike other cruise lines, MSC do not just award points based on the category of cabin you have booked and for how many nights the cruise is. Yes, they award points for this, but they also award points for on board spend. For example, every £150 spent on board will give you 100 points.

If you are booked or are thinking of booking an MSC cruise line and are not already a member, get your membership status match!!!!

Check back in May for my blog on the MSC Divina Caribbean cruise I will be taking. (yes I am counting the days already, the ship looks amazing!!!)

Dubai has become synonymous with luxury travel and what better way to visit Dubai than by a luxury cruise holiday? There’s more to Dubai than its iconic skyscrapers and with a packed calendar of events, shows, festivals and exhibitions there’s plenty to see and do throughout the year so pack your bags and get ready to set sail to the stunning Persian Gulf.

Which destinations could I visit on a Dubai cruise?

Norwegian Cruise Line have a 21-night Dubai cruise that departs from Rome and visits Naples, Messina, Greece, Cyprus and Israel before entering the Suez Canal to take in Jordan, Egypt, Oman and eventually Dubai. If you’re looking for something a little shorter, then try the ten night Arabian Gulf and Emirates cruise from Azamara which starts and ends in Dubai and visits Khasab, Muscat, Al Manamah, Doha and Abu Dhabi.

Luxury cruise line Oceania has some stunning cruise itineraries which include cruises to Dubai. Their ships are smaller and more intimate than larger cruise liners allowing them to visit boutique ports which the larger ships are often too large to enter. Oceania also has a high staff to guest ratio to offer a superior level of service. Remember a luxury cruise doesn’t have to break the bank — there are always cruise deals available which are well worth looking for.

Dubai cruise excursions

Guided tours can show you the highlights of modern and historic Dubai such as its contemporary architecture, the eighteenth-century Al Fahidi Fort and the landmark hotels and malls. You might choose to explore further afield with a sand dune safari and visit a Bedouin campsite or take to the skies in a helicopter or hot air balloon to admire the cityscape and views of the Hajar mountains. If you’d prefer to stay on the water then take a trip along the Dubai creek in a traditional Arabian sailing vessel known as a dhow, many of which now offer a dinner service whilst you’re enjoying the sights.

Shopping in Dubai

The traditional Arabian markets, known as souks, are a cultural highlight in Dubai. There are specialist souks for perfume, spices, gold and textiles which are well worth a visit whether you’re looking to buy or just want to soak up the atmosphere. For a luxury shopping experience, head to one of Dubai’s many modern malls to visit the designer boutiques or even use a private shopper service.

Prices from:

Interior £1569
Ocean-View £1699
Balcony £1799

Flights will be with the 5 star Emirates Airlines (which depart from 6 UK airports – Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, London Gatwick & London Heathrow) the offer prices above are based on Manchester & London Gatwick, other airports will be at a small supplement.

I have personally flown with this airline and can highly recommend them, first class treatment from start to finish, complimentary food and beverages, comfortable surroundings, excellent and well mannered crew.

I have never flown with a better airline than Emirates and I have travelled quite alot, drinks are constantly being offered throughout the flight, a hot 3 course meal is served to you, snacks and sandwiches before landing, nothing is too much trouble for the friendly cabin crew.

The 2 night pre cruise hotel stay at the beginning of the holiday is a must. The 5 star Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach is located in the famous Jumeriah Beach area ideally located for exploring Dubai’s best attrations, from the luxury shops of nearby Dubai Marina Mall.

The hotel provides bed and breakfast and for a very small fee of £20.00 per person per day you can upgrade your dining option to half board.

We use this hotel purely based on the location and the excellent reviews they receive aswell repeat guests.

Plenty to do in Dubai, the city is like New York – it never sleeps, from endless shopping Malls at duty free prices, the Burj Khalifa (which I have personally done, its definitely worth a visit upto the observation level at 124 floors above ground level and a lift that takes 52 seconds to get you there) and for the VIP’s they can sample the view from an incredible 148th floor.

Desert Safari’s are also very popular here, also hotel stays can be arranged, fancy going from the hustle and bustle to complete calm and quietness, a twin centre may be an option to capture both worlds.

Please visit our website for even more details on the great offer!

Dubai is situated in the United Arab Emirates (Middle East) and is fast becoming one of the most visited cities in the world.

A total of 742, 158 passengers travelled from the United Kingdom last year to Dubai to visit this wonderful and vibrant place.

You can travel to Dubai direct with Emirates Airlines from several UK gateways (London Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow) only 7 hours long, you can also choose to fly from your local airport on indirect flights with the likes of KLM, Air France, Lufthansa and British Airways, giving you more flexibility.

When arriving in Dubai you will instantly feel welcomed by all the local / foreign people that work in the airport, very friendly and always full of knowledge, always there to assist and always with a smile on their faces.

The airport is one of the biggest I have been too! It can take upto 40 minutes to walk from one terminal to another, people with mobility issues should definitely pre arrange airport assitance. If your one for shopping then this airport is a shoppers paradise, make sure you check in early for your flight because sometimes passport control can be busy due to the sheer volume of flights that take off on a daily basis.

Now comes the tricky part, which hotel do you choose? Theres absolutely plenty of choice to choose from here, from your standard 3 star hotels to the 5/6 star propertys, this is all depending on what you can afford to spend? Again another choice is which area would you like to stay in? You can choose from Dubai City, Jumeirah Beach, Palm Island to name just afew, the list is endless.

Most of the hotels in Dubai offer complimentary shuttle bus transfers which take you to the Malls and beach areas on the coast. When choosing a hotel in Dubai another thing to take into consideration would be does the hotel serve alcohol? Some hotels in Dubai are known as dry hotels so no alcohol will be served and you cant bring your own alcohol. There are many licensed hotels to choose from.

Dubai is a fascinating place to visit, Dubai has the worlds biggest malls for shopping, the stunning Burj Khalifa, in my own experience is well worth a visit, fancy travelling up 125 floors in 52 seconds and not even feeling a thing, the views are stunning from the viewing platform and features a 360 degree walk around observation deck (not for the faint hearted though.

I believe that everyone should experience the delights of Dubai atleast once in their lives, I hopefully will be going back very soon 🙂

There was big news this week from Thomson Cruises after they announced that they will be positioning the Thomson Celebration to sail from Dubai next winter. The cruises, which will go on sale in November, will start in Dubai and run two seven-night itineraries – ‘Arabian Nights’ and ‘Cities of Gold’ which will visit Khasab and Muscat in Oman, Manama in Bahrain, Doha in Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Khor Fakkan in United Arab Emirates as part of the 7 night itineraries.

There will also be an option to combine the cruise with a seven night stay in Dubai either before or after the cruise and there will be a choice of hotels including Atlantis The Palm. The downside is that there will only be the 7 nights option for staying in Dubai rather than a 3 or 4 night option which I think would be more popular.

The great news is that as it is Thomson and they will be using their own flights, there will be direct flights from Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Newcastle and Glasgow.

I think this is a bold but smart move from Thomson, as there is only really 3 cruise line – Royal Caribbean, MSC & Costa who regularly base ships in that area so if they can be competitive on price then I think that Thomson can certainly be a popular choice. They will be the only British cruise line there and with good value all inclusive packages and no gratuities to pay they may well appeal to the British market.

What do you think? Is this something that you would like to try? Let me know your thoughts.
