Emirates airlines yesterday announced they are launching a new route from Stansted airport to Dubai with over 150 connections worldwide. This has created much interest for those that live in Essex and Eastern England, both Peterborough and Milton Keynes are highly populated for UK travellers to fly abroad, plus for international visitors to UK it creates more tourism outside of London city centre, Cambridge is one of the most picturesque cities in the area and has a lot to offer tourists with its old buildings, river Cam, Cathedral and of course the University.

emirates Our-Fleet

The daily route will begin from June 2018 using three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. They will feature 6 of the brand new first class suites, 42 seats in business class and 306 in economy.

emirates food firstEmirates have recently overhauled their Boeing 777 aircraft with a multi-million dollar upgrade that includes newly-designed seats and upgraded in flight entertainment systems in all classes. Emirates are known throughout their fleet for their excellent service and spacious seats, the most exciting news however is the launch of their new suites in first class, these are a new innovation for Emirates, only launching last month on selected aircraft. They have private suites featuring floor to ceiling sliding doors, sleek design inspired by Mercedes-Benz S-Class and offering up to 40 square feet of space, with a 1-1-1 configuration. The idea to collaborate with Mercedes was a concept to bring together two global brands who are renowned for innovation, comfort and luxury designed with soft leather seating, high-tech control panels and mood lighting.

Emirates airlines are very popular with cruise passengers, especially noting that they offer a grand 30kg luggage allowance p/p. Many cruise lines offer itineraries from Dubai in the Winter months sailing around the Emirate states or sailing further afield to India. Emirates also fly much further afield so you can still travel in absolute comfort to Singapore, Thailand, Australia to join your cruise

I will be sailing with Norwegian cruise lines on the NCL Dawn, this is a mid sized ship initially launched in 2002 but in 2016 went through an extensive refurbishment, she is known for having some of the largest accommodation at sea, along with over a dozen dining options capitalizing on Norwegians freestyle policy. New features include Los Lobos cantinas, an upscale Mexican restaurant exclusive to this ship, I will definitely be stopping off at The Cellars, a Michael Mondavi Family Wine Bar for a wine tasting, and have only heard fabulous reviews about the Teppenyaki restaurant.

Dawn_TheCellars

NCL cruise lines are a 4 star cruise line that specializes in Freestyle cruising, there are no set meal times, plenty of speciality restaurants and now they are fully all inclusive including a Premium all inclusive drinks package and gratuities, so plenty opportunity to try a few cocktails and no need to worry about who your going to tip. Their ships stand out mainly for their colourful nature, inside the ship is an abundance of colour, from the main atrium to the cabins and walkways, to the murals painted on the bow of the ship, making them stand out from all other lines.

Boarding in San Juan sailing 7 night itinerary around the Caribbean Islands stopping at Barbados for our first port of call and one I am most excited about. Barbados epitomises all what the Caribbean has to offer, colourful buildings in Bridgetown itself, but it is the laid back atmosphere and golden sandy beaches that mostly attracts visitors.

DestinationGalleries.Caribbean.OceanFloat

Martinique is our next port, part of the Lesser Antilles Islands and is described as an overseas region of France, its shores are bathed in the West by the Caribbean Sea and in the East by the Atlantic Ocean, there is a distinctive blend of French and West Indian influences in both food and architecture. Fields of bananas and pineapples can be seen whilst driving around the island

St Kitts is mainly known for its mountainous rainforest and vast beaches of white, gray, and black sands from its volcanic structure. Here we have booked an off road 4×4 tour through the island which is going to be an experience never to forget

St Johns in Antiqua has been described to me as paradise and one of the most beautiful islands in the Southern Caribbean, known as a honeymoon island, the beaches are plentiful. Nelsons dockyard is a cultural heritage site and marina, the roads to here offer some of the best on the island

St Thomas in US Virgin Island is one of the most popular cruise destinations, with its crystal clear waters and sandy beaches, and is most suited for beach, boat trips and snorkelling. You can actually walk on the sea bed wearing a helmet, called Helmet diving or even a scooter, it is something I have never seen before and is very intriguing

So I have a very busy cruise planned, if you too are interested in getting away from this dark British weather to some winter sunshine, email me today. Keep an eye out in December to hear all about how I got on

Counting down to my cruise next week I am excited to visit somewhere new, have a little bit of winter sun and try a new cruise line

After so many of our customers have recommended Norwegian cruise lines and hearing so many good reports I’m taking the plunge and giving them a try

ncl dawn

We have a night beforehand staying at La Concha beach resort in the Condado area, a 5* deluxe resort situated right on the beach. A perfect way to begin our holiday and situated equal distance from the airport and Old Town its the ideal combination of making the most of what San Juan has to offer.

The city appears to me in 2 halves, Old town San Juan, which is the main city center with the port, narrow cobbled streets, colourful old buildings, art and Latin life. Condado is located about a 10 minute drive from the old town, this is a beach front promenade area and strikes me as being more touristy, with an abundance of shops, bars, restaurants, hotels and casinos

It will be interesting to see how the island has recovered from the aftermath of the recent hurricanes, from reading it seems that most of the large hotels are almost running as normal now with only a handful still remaining closed.

San Juan is the Capital city on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, it is both an initial embarking port and one of the most popular ports of call for many cruise itineraries. Visiting San Juan offers something for everyone, the long golden beaches, colourful Spanish colonial buildings and La Fortaleza, a huge fortress overlooking the blue ocean, and of course it is the home of rum and Pina coladas so a little sampling will be taking place and a visit to the Barcadi distilery

If it’s your first time visiting Southeast Asia, or perhaps you want visit the many delights and sights that Southeast Asia has to offer, then more often than not, a cruise is an excellent option. The most popular option is the Singapore to Hong Kong itinerary.

Singapore is an excellent embarkation destination, and is easily reached from major UK airports, either direct, or indirect. Singapore is a bustling and modern city that offers a vibrant and exciting insight to Southeast Asia, combining an exotic food scene with a vast array of shopping malls, to the smaller market stalls.

As you near to the end of your culture enriched Southeastern Asia itinerary, you will sail past the high rise buildings that line Hong Kong harbour

western med 6Short duration cruises of less than seven nights, are the perfect long weekend breaks, and in the past Costa Cruises has been the leader for short duration cruises, with some itineraries ranging from three to five nights, embarking in either Barcelona or Genoa, and calling into ports such as Marseilles, Corsica and Majorca, to name a few. As these durations are becoming increasingly popular, cruise lines such as MSC, Royal Caribbean, Azamara and Oceania have a handful of four and five night duration sailings, the amount of time in port is less than longer duration sailings, however there may only be one day at sea, or none at all.

shutterstock_244573861

The more popular Western Mediterranean itineraries are generally durations between seven to twelve nights, and depart from ports such as Barcelona, Rome and Marseilles, and guests can expect to visit the well known ports whilst enjoying some leisurely days at sea in between. Itineraries such as these, can include porting in the Canary Islands, Tunisia and Morocco

A perfect way to cruise the Western Mediterranean region, without the hassle of flying and checking in at airports, is to sail out directly from a UK port, such as the well known Southampton, with Harwich and Dover also being popular embarkation ports. Although this is a great option, not only for ease, but for an unlimited luggage allowance, there is of course a downfall, and this is the famous Bay of Biscay, which can either be a smooth sailing experience, or can be an extremely rocky sailing experience!

A cost effective way to cruise, is by sailing on a repositioning cruise, these cruises generally sail from the Mediterranean, over to the Caribbean, or from the Caribbean over to the Mediterranean. These itineraries can usually be found in April, May, September, October and into early November. These itineraries usually embark in Barcelona or Rome, and call into various Western Mediterranean ports, the Canary Islands and Morocco, before heading to the Caribbean

Visit two islands with one port of call when your next cruise docks in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Being the most southern islands in the Caribbean, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago lies just 6 miles off of the North-East coast of Venezuela, South America.

Parlatuvier Bay, Tobago
Parlatuvier Bay, Tobago

They have two seasons each year: Dry Season, which is the first five months of the year, with the Wet Season being the remaining seven months of the year.

The two ports which are open to cruise ships are; Port of Spain in Trinidad and Port of Scarborough in Tobago.  Being just a twenty minute ferry ride apart, you can plan your visit to whichever of the Twin islands quite easily, due to the very frequent ferries that operate each day. The cost is also very minimal, at just £6 per adult, each way.

Having visited Tobago myself, it is a haven for beach lovers. They offer stunning, relaxing beaches with local crafts and food for sale. They have small markets close to beaches giving you the option to browse for souvenirs at your own freewill. Be sure to try the fruit here, its cheap and so fresh! Just what you need on a hot summers day in the Caribbean.

Cumana Bay, Trinidad
Cumana Bay, Trinidad

Trinidad is of course renowned for their Carnival which is one of THE most attended carnivals in the world, taking place February each year. Here you can witness the most Extravagant-barely there costumes, vibrant colours, dancing, music, food and some of the most beautiful women on the island. Known as “The Original Carnival” it is certainly something to witness if you are sailing here when it is on.

So if you are sailing into one of the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad & Tobago on your next cruise, and you want to see the sister island, take a ferry and explore! Be sure to check your “All Aboard” time, you don’t want to miss the boat!

Italian owned Costa Cruise Line have today announced their partnership with Italian Football team Juventus.

For all of their sailings within Asia, Costa Cruise Line will be offering a Juventus Experience on board for all passengers.

Guests on board will be able to view Juventus content at anytime from the TV in their cabin. They can also learn about Juventus’ history, as there will be a fantastically decorated “Juventus Museum” corner, showcasing related Memorabilia. Of course you can pick up a souvenir, just visit the Juventus Shop on board!

They will have a fantastic mini club on board where children can play with the Juventus Official mascot, Jay. In my opinion, the highlight of the new partnership will be a Juventus trainging program, for children aged 5 to 14 years old. Aspiring footballers are encouraged to sign up regardless of the technical level, as the training will be managed and trained by coaches from Juventus and the program is copied from the Juventus Soccer school “Juventus Academy”.

The cruise line say the new partnership with the Italian Football Giant, will accentuate Costa Cruises Italian DNA and enrich the on board offerings to passengers.

Costa Neoromantica, Costa Victoria and Costa Neoclassica are the three ships kicking off the 2018 Asia Sailings.

Due to the new partnership, cabins will be getting full very quickly, so don’t miss out on your chance to be apart of this new program!

Here at Cruise Club UK we get a lot of cruise passengers asking if they should book their shore excursions in advance…. Our answer is always YES and here’s why:

Lower prices than the cruise lines

 English speaking tour guides

If for any reason your ship doesn’t port, no problem a full refund will be issued

Guaranteed to get back you back on board in time for sail away.

The most popular and cheapest option is to pre book a multi port package. These can range anything from 2 to 9 excursions, dependant on your cruise holiday duration. Just look out for the RED PACKAGES logo as below:

8e0d63b5-5647-4378-a765-e1e33c123236

The essential collection tours are brilliant value for money. You get maximum time in port so you and your loved ones get to experience that destination has to offer. With a meet and greet service, which I have used myself in Bruges it just adds that personal touch. Also really easy signs to follow if your unsure where to go or what you need to do.

Travelling as part of a group?

Why not plan the perfect itinerary with a team of dedicated staff to assist you along the way. Plus any special requests you have such as language aren’t a problem. set your own budget to meet your group’s needs!

private-and-group-tours-final

You really can save $$$$ by booking in advance. I was surprised by the amount of passengers that had pre booked their excursions as opposed to those who had booked with the cruise line directly. For upto date advise and bookings call our aftersales department who will be more than happy to help you!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to spend 131 night on board a cruise ship, sailing the globe? Well, imagine just how spectacular that would be on board an Intimate Luxury ship with Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line.

The beautiful Seven Seas Mariner cruise ship will be sailing the 131 night world cruise in 2020. This will be a takeover from the current ship, Navigator which is hosting the world voyages in 2018 and 2019.

The intimate ship will dry dock in spring 2018 to get ready for her world voyage. Passengers can sail round trip from San Francisco or Miami.

San Francisco
San Francisco Skyline

Visiting 66 ports in 30 countries on six continents, the 700 passenger ship will be offering some of the best ports of call in the world. In total, there will be 13 overnight port stops, with passengers have the opportunity to visit 36 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Ports of call will include Central America, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Arabian Peninsula, South Pacific and India.

Passengers who are lucky enough to experience the whole world cruise, are also entitled to many other perks which include a Lord of the Rings themes dinner in the Auckland War, and the choice of excursions from a list of over 300 complimentary tours.

One of my favourite perks for the World Cruise Passengers embarking in San Francisco is a California cuisine dinner at the Ritz Carlton. Nice!!!

As well as all the other fantastic perks offered, the full world cruise passengers can have FREE ROUND TRIP first-class airfare. On board medical care, luggage service and unlimited laundry & pressing is another benefit.

Of course, these benefits are all in addition to the standard Regent benefits for all passengers. These include complimentary speciality restaurant meals, gratuities, airport transfers, beverages and WI-FI.
