From personal experience I have always found the dining on cruise ships to be of an extremely high standard and something that forms part of the whole cruising overall experience for guests. The cruise lines employ chefs from around the world who have amazing culinary backgrounds and can deliver the highest standards that will wow even the fussiest of guests. On most mainstream cruise ships as well as the main restaurants there are usually speciality restaurants where guests can pay a cover charge to go in and try a different dining options.

So which mainstream cruise lines are doing the best speciality restaurants? In my first blog I will explore Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.

Celebrity Cruises

One of my favourite cruise lines, so im slightly biased but with Celebrity you certainly get the 5* experience.

Qsine

Sushi lollipops, lobster escargot and popcorn fish all ordered from an iPad menu! Qsine is unique in more ways than one.  Diversify your palette with culinary delights created by master chef featured James Beard. I personally sampled some of the best king prawns ive ever tasted in Qsine last year.

Try the big, bold flavours of Tuscany at this friendly feeling Italian steakhouse. A place where traditional style meets a healthy splash of innovation and creativity. Tuscan Grille renowned for an unforgettable steak at sea!

A 4 star family cruise line another of my favourites if taking the kids! They certainly know how to please all ages within any family I have found from my experiences with them.

For a phenomenal dining experience like no other why not try Wonderland where all is not what it seems. A place where science meets food with liquid lobster, Tempura salmon caviar and truffled egg in the shell. A truly amazing, imaginative and interesting concept loosely based on the Alices adventures in wonderland novel.

Chops Grille

For over a decade Chops grille – Royal Caribbean’s hallmark restaurant have delighted guests with its highest quality dry aged steak. Each hand selected and aged for nearly four weeks to achieve the pinnacle of flavor, tenderness, and aroma. The Chops grille menu offers a contemporary flair to traditional steakhouse offerings and is certain to please the steak lovers at sea.

Don’t forget to come back for part 2 of ‘Who has the best speciality dining at sea?’ Where we will explore Norwegian cruise line and MSC Cruises.
