Costa Cruises have announced that they are to build two new mega ships between 2019 and 2020.
The two mega ships will be built in Finland and will be the first to be powered by Liquefied Gas (LNG)
The new ships will be the largest in the world by passenger numbers carrying 6,600 each.
I personally cannot wait to step onboard one of the ships as im a massive Costa Cruises fan, Ive now been on 3 cruises with them to the Mediterranean and the United Arab Emirates aboard the Costa Fortuna and Costa Luminosa.
Yes people have their reservations with this cruise line but personally I feel they are one of the best, friendly staff, great food and lots to do onboard.
Plus with Costa you have the added bonus of booking an All Inclusive drinks package for £21.00 per person per day, which is a must as drinks at sea can be very expensive, this way the drinks are prepaid, it includes the 15% gratuity and there will be no nasty bill at the end.
Some people are put off that Costa Cruises have a mandatory service charge of 8 Euros per person per day, I think this is acceptable due to the high standard of service I have received on my past cruises.
I believe that one day all cruise lines will go down the same route, or at least they should include them within the cost of the cruise just like Azamara.
So whats your thoughts on the size of these two new ship, is bigger better?
Would you like to be onboard?
I know that I will definitely be visiting one of them just to get a feel that I am sailing the seas with 6,599 other passengers.
