Where would you prefer for Christmas….England, Canary Island or a cruise round the Caribbean?
So I came across something really surprising today, if you are looking at going away over Christmas it is actually cheaper to go to the Caribbean than it is the Canary Islands, and I’m sure for a lot of people this beats staying in the UK if you’re after a bit of winter sun.
I’m sure as you are reading this you are thinking no the Canary Islands must be cheaper, the Caribbean is further afield as a much more inviting destination, whether you want pure white sand beaches and sparkling turquoise waters, or just to relax sitting on your balcony watching the sunset with your favourite cocktail
Would you rather have this?
Or even this?
I know which I would choose ……if I hadn’t already used up all my holidays this year . The sea is bluer, clearer, and as most use the $USD overall spend will be less whilst you are there. You can still sightsee or even take a tour to the rainforests in St Lucia, the famous Harrison caves in Barbados, swim with dolphins or even turtles and so much more. Imagine how the skies will be lit up magnificently by fireworks on New Years eve from neighbouring islands…..if I close my eyes I can see myself right there.
If you still don’t believe me here’s a little offer to wet your appetite with P&O, 12 nights on the Oceana around the Canaries in a Balcony cabin is £1529p/p, but you can fly to the Caribean and sail for 14 nights on the Azura a balcony cabin is only £1349. Crazy isn’t it!
Once your there the temperatures are higher, average for the Caribbean is between 26-30degrees where as for the Canaries is between 18-20degrees, and the UK is very cold at the moment
