After the five nights in Las Vegas we took an internal flight over to San Francisco to catch the cruise on the Grand Princess.
Sailing out on the 23rd of September we had one day at sea before arriving in the city of Astoria, Oregon from 07:00 am -16:00 hours . I opted in booking a tour before we travelled through Cruising Excursions as I was not familiar with this part of the world.
On the 26th September we arrived in Seattle for over 12 hours, from 09:00 am – 22:00 hours. Having a decent amount of time in Seattle and my wife’s love of Jazz this is the place to be. Seattle’s Jazz scene was where the likes of Ray Charles’s career was established and not to forget the birthplace of the brilliant Jimi Hendrix.
On the 27th September we arrived in Vancouver, British Columbia, from 08:00 am – 22:00 hours. Vancouver has always been on mine and my wife’s wish list, so this way I get to go to Las Vegas and visit some amazing places all in one holiday. With so much to do and see a visit to the Major film production studios in Vancouver is a must. Being the largest film studios in North America it has earned the nickname Hollywood North.
On the 28th September we docked in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. As we were only there a short time in Victoria from 07:00 am – 14:00 hours we just had a brief look round
On the 30th September we arrived in San Francisco early in the morning where we disembarked the ship for a two night stay at the Handlery Union Square Hotel. Union Square is definitely the area to be in! With only spending a couple of days in San Francisco and so much to see I decided on the following before returning back to the UK.
The Golden Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf are a must but most of all is the tour of Alcatraz.
