Afternoon (or evening, or Morning) all.
Sorry I’ve been a while – but the Cap’n has been busy doing the day job.
Interesting news is coming out on the new build ships on the horizon. Carnival have announced details of the new-old Carnival Vista. I say new – old because its surely a re-vamp of the Dream class – which was a re-vamp of the Conquest class – which was a re-vamp of the spirit class (you get the idea). On one hand I think – is it too much for the worlds largest cruise line to do something different. But on the other hand, if it isn’t broken don’t fix it ! And it is not broken !
If there is one thing that carnival do well its the customer retention of their loyal American cruisers. While other lines are reaching all over the globe, carnival are doing very well where they are. BUT – hot off the press the vista will be cruising the Med for her maiden season, I hope this time carnival stick with the Med for a couple of seasons & don’t give up after one. This has always been their strategy in the past, one season here & there – give up & come back. They really need to dedicate themselves to the Mediterranean for a couple of seasons if they’re serious about it.
Is it just me that thinks the Med is overcrowded with the same ships / lines.
I personally think the Med needs something different – and Carnival might just be it.
